Meet the Ranch Owner
Patrice grew up at a 5,000-acre YMCA camp in the mountains of Colorado, where her father served as camp director. She received her first horse at the age of five, beginning a lifelong passion for horses. As a youth, she immersed herself in 4-H, competing in nearly every equestrian event available. Many of her early adventures with horses are chronicled in her book, Tales of a Young Rider.
While attending Colorado State University, Patrice worked at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She discovered a love for jumping and eventing, competing in local horse trials, and later became deeply passionate about dressage and groundwork while riding an upper-level schoolmaster.
Patrice raised her daughters in a horse-centered lifestyle and remained actively involved in 4-H, volunteering as a Horse Project Leader, Performance Team Leader, and Record Book Leader. She also competed in the California State Horsemen's Association Horse Mastership Program, earning the highest score in Region 5. Her highest level of competition came at the Pinto World Championship Show, where she earned two Reserve Champion titles in Western Pleasure.
Today, Patrice enjoys riding the trails around Tumalo and taking in the stunning Cascade Mountain views from her ranch.
